This book is a sneak-peek into the life of June
June has told some of her life’s stories.
Within these pages, you will share some of her happy times along with the sad ones.
She was born in the mill town of Oldham in 1933.
The middle child of five, now almost ninety, she is the last remaining sibling.
She tells of how she discovered what death was at the young age of three and how she became the face of the new Mothers Pride loaf within her local community at the same age.
When war broke out, she was just six years old, and the world changed.
She talks about growing up, her school years, and as teenagers, how June and her friend Joyce acquired their entrance money to visit Billington’s Dance Hall on a Saturday evening and King's Picture Hall on a Sunday.
Starting work in the mill and meeting her first husband in the picture house, to the trials and tribulations of bringing up a young family of five in the fifties and sixties. With that, throw in an unexpected career change and a decade of disaster that would have tested most people’s limits, and you’re in for a treat.
Escape your reality for the next couple of hours and delve into the pages of a life that has been
Ninety Years in the Making.
I hope you enjoy the read. Wendy.
